SPAGHETTI CARBONARA

Spaghetti Carbonara, prepared from spaghetti, eggs, pancetta (an Italian kind of bacon), Parmesan cheese and black pepper, is a traditional Italian pasta dish. Prepared as such without any cream, pasta will be mixed with raw egg and grated cheese that results in making a creamy sauce. Meanwhile, pancetta brings in some salty-smoky taste while pepper contributes little to its spiciness. Due to its full-bodied, rewarding flavor.

TIRAMISU

Tiramisu is your quintessential Italian dessert layered with connived coffee-saturated ladyfinger biscuits and creamy mix of mascarpone cheese, eggs, sugar. Sometimes flavored by cocoa powder or some liqueur hints such as rum or coffee liqueur it has this light feeling that’s fluffy like air but also very tasty; which makes it special among all other desserts. It usually served cold hence ever refreshing and sweet.

FOCACCIA

A variant of Italian flatbread is Focacci which tastes like soft pillow unbaked doughs sprinkled with salt, olives oil extract and various types of herbs such as rosemary. Foccacia is thicker than pizza dough however; its texture can be altered by toppings such as tomatoes, onions among other ingredients such as olive or any other kind that comes to mind. When it comes out from the oven these delicious breads turn golden brownish.

BRUSCHETTA

The Bruschetta is a classic Italian starter that is made using sliced toasted bread to which one rubs some garlic and then tops it off with fresh things such as diced fresh tomatoes, basil leaves, olive oil along with sometimes mozzarella cheese or balsamic vinegar. It has crunchy bread which goes so well with the toppings since they are fresh; hence making this dish simple yet so appetizing in flavor.

PIZZA MARGHERITA

In line with the homage paid to Queen Margherita of Italy, they imitate the three colors of the national flag namely red, white and green representing tomato, mozzarella and basil in that order. An ancient type of pizza found across Italy is Pizza Margherita. Made using a thin foundation consisting of tomato sauce, mozzarella and fresh basil leaves this base is then drenched in olive oil. As it cooks within the oven melting cheese.

LASAGNA

One of the most favorite dishes of Italy that is made of lasagna includes rich meat or vegetable sauce, flat sheets of pasta and some cheese. Most often, the sauce has ground beef, tomatoes and onions while the cheeses are usually a blend of ricotta, mozzarella and parmesan. Baked in the oven until bubbling hot with melted cheese, Lasagna is well-known for its heartiness and comfort flavor which always makes it suitable for family dining.

PESTO GENOVESE

Pesto Genovese is a traditional sauce hailing from Genoa, Italy made by blending together fresh basil leaves, garlic cloves, pine nuts, parmesan cheese and with some olive oil added into it. The resulting mix will form a thick dark green paste which appears so much aromatic in nature whose taste is really fresh. Pesto is commonly served with spaghetti or trofie though sometimes it may be used on bread or as a dip.

POLENTA

Polenta is an Italian dish made of maize flour (made by grinding corn) that has been boiled. When it’s made freshly, polenta has a porridge-like texture, and it can also be chilled and shaped into a solid form that can be sliced and then grilled or pan-fried. Commonly served alongside meat, vegetables or sauces, polenta likes being known for its colorfulness, softness as well as its tendency to take on flavors from what it's served with.

RISOTTO

Risotto is an Italian dish that comprises rice, cooked slowly and mixed with broth until such time when it is soft and rich. Arborio or Carnaroli rice is the main ingredient in this case whose high starch content gives risotto its creamy texture. Onion, garlic, wine cheese and other additions such as mushrooms, seafood or vegetables are used for flavoring. Comfortably enjoyed as either a main course or a side dish Risotto.

GNOCCHI

In the realm of Italian gastronomic cultures, none can compare with gnocchi. On an everyday basis gnocchi refers to a kind of dumpling that is small and soft made from potato flour and eggs which can be shaped like either small pillows or have some ridges on one side thus making them look oval-shaped. In most cases they are boiled and served along various sauces such as tomato sauce, pesto or simply butter mixed with sage among others things.
